August 2026

Hey Reader,

Is it Aug-tober already? I cannot believe how fast this year is going. With spooky season right around the corner (along with the release of Tempted by the Vampire Prince) I've come to deliver an update about what's been going on in my world.

Special Edition News

With the Kickstarter for Tempted FUNDED and going strong, I've made the decision to green light the special hardcover edition for Book 2 (Title TBA) AND a special edition omnibus of the Vampire Prince Duology (Fated and Sworn!)

Yes, that means new Bastien and Claire art will be coming your way! (And maybe even a certain demon will sneak his way in there.)

All these special editions will be done by the same cover artist, so they will look super pretty on your shelves (spine in or out!) AND I'll be working with the same artist on endpaper art, so the insides will be matchy-matchy too.

If you haven't gotten your special edition for Tempted yet, there is still time! The campaign closes on August 11th. And if you are on the fence about getting a copy, now is the time to act! There will be a late pledge option, but the price will go up!

Audiobook News

Yes, there will be an audiobook for Tempted by the Vampire Prince, voiced by Josie Midforth! You can hear a teaser:

*The release date for the Audiobook is TBD due to the cost of quality narration.

The good news is that the more pledges we get on Kickstarter, the earlier I'll be able to fund it! So if you're an audiobook listener, please consider pledging or sharing the campaign with a friend!

Even a single dollar donation helps move us forward! (I swear, there is no pledge too small!)

Community Spotlight

Daphne aka @PigletAndThePage

Daphne has been such an amazing supporter of me and my books from the beginning, and I couldn't be more grateful for her! Whether she's making awesome social media content or providing invaluable alpha reader feedback, I can't say enough good things about her.

I could go on and on, but I'll let Daphne introduce herself:

I love coaching and supporting people no matter what I am doing (my job, my hobbies, everything haha). Life has tried to throw me some serious curve balls but I believe that it will all work to good some day. I will be your biggest cheerleader. I love to be creative. My dream job would life/work coach where I can empower people to be the best version of themselves using their strengths and what is right about them.

And you will find me always hiding in a good book or talking about books!

FUN FACT: I twirled baton on a cruise ship and halftime of the Cirtus Bowl

A recent read: Throne of Wicked Lies by Makayla Marie

Coaching Corner

"Why Do I Always Feel Like I'm Behind?"

It's easy to feel like you're "behind" on a book. Whether you're starting a new project or in the final, crazed push to hit a deadline, the feeling like you're somehow "behind" on your goals is a tale as old as time.

When we feel that way, it often leads to burnout and overwhelm, and we fall even more behind, reaffirming the feeling.

Instead of getting stuck in the stomach-clenching anxiety of being "behind", I fall back on my experience with parts work and ask myself one invaluable question:

"What am I afraid will happen if I'm behind?"

Then I set my hand on my heart and I listen.

Sometimes, I worry that I'm not just behind on this book, but behind on everything. It's not just this project, but the crushing weight of being behind in multiple places. And if I can't do this one thing right, then that must mean that I'm not good enough. That I'll never achieve my dreams.

And that's a heavy feeling to sit with when you're trying to be creative.

So what do you do? How do you make peace with that feeling and get unstuck? Well, I remember that not all of me feels this way, only a part. A part of me is very worried about being behind. But there are other parts of me that feel other ways. For example, one part might be excited to write the next spicy chapter, or is so hyped to reveal a new piece of art.

You see, we are all composed of many parts. And if we can acknowledge how one part of us feels, find empathy toward it, it can relax and allow us to continue working.

If you're interested in learning more about this method, I talk more about it in my craft book, No Bad Drafts, and the accompanying workbook.

That's it for this month's newsletter. Stay tuned for more updates!
